RoadFish.com Releases Analysis of Hostess Brands Inc.’s Recent Bankruptcy Filing
Irving, Texas (PRWEB) January 12, 2012
RoadFish.com men’s lifestyle and finance magazine alludes to the reasons Hostess may have ended up in the situation of filing for Chapter 11. Their hypothesis is centered on society’s general awareness of the quality of the food they are consuming. With the upswing in the release of many food documentaries such as Super Size Me, Fresh, and Food Inc. information about the nutritional content of many foods is much more readily available to the public not to mention the amount of information available online.
The editor of RoadFish stated, “I grew up eating tons of Hostess products including their Ding Dongs and Zingers. It really surprised me to see them filing for bankruptcy. I took a good hard look at their products and how my viewpoint as a consumer changed over the past 4 decades. My conclusion was that as I and America changed our viewpoint of food and what was acceptable to put into our bodies, Hostess did not keep up with our ever more healthy way of eating and living.”
Hostess is the largest wholesaler and baker in the United States. They handle many store brands such as Wonder Bread, Hostess, and Dolly Madison.
Hostess was founded in 1930, in Kansas City making loaves of bread wrapped in cloth and shipping them to grocery stores. Throughout the 1950’s and 1960’s Hostess acquired many other baking brands to become the largest baking company in the U.S.
RoadFish has suggested that Hostess take a look at their current product line and align it with the changes in consumer eating habits. A healthier, tasty product may just bring Hostess back into the lunch boxes of many.
