Crew Clothing Launches Initiative to Encourage Customers to Try Rowing Through the Give it a Go Campaign

Try Gig Rowing with Crew Clothing

(PRWEB UK) 14 July 2011

Crew Clothing Co. is delighted to announce its support of gig rowing by sponsoring a number of gig rowing clubs across England’s South West.

As part of the initiative, those new to gig rowing will have the chance to try their hand at the sport on a number of dates throughout July and August through its Give It A Go campaign (please see below for the full list of events).

As well as experiencing what it’s like in a gig boat, participants will be able to attend an après-sea party to meet experienced gig rowers who will answer any questions they may have. To reserve a place on the Give It A Go gig boat, please email events(at)crewclothing(dot)co(dot)uk.

The traditional Cornish pilot gig is a six-oared rowing boat, built of Cornish narrow leaf elm. Its original purpose was as a general work boat and was used for taking pilots out to incoming vessels in the Atlantic. Today pilot gigs are used primarily for sport and there are around 100 active gig rowing boats across the globe.

Crew Clothing is passionate about traditional British sports and is thrilled to support the gig rowing community in its quest to popularise the sport. In addition, the move supports Crew’s initiative to further strengthen its ties with its coastal roots and associated coastal traditions.

The British casual luxury clothing retailer is no stranger to supporting British sporting events. In May 2011 the company announced it will be providing the stewards of the world famous Queen’s Club Tennis Tournament with several items of clothing including men’s shirts in Crew Classic Stripe and Ashton Blazers, as well as women’s shirts and white Burley Blazers.

In the past, Crew has also sponsored the Volvo Ocean Race (formerly the Whitbread Round the World Race) and Masters Tennis at the Royal Albert Hall and as the official clothing supplier to the England Polo Team.

The beauty of these blogging engines and CMS platforms is the lack of limitations and ease of manipulation that allows developers to implement rich content and ‘skin’ the site in such a way that with very little effort one would never notice what it is making the site tick all without limiting content and effectiveness.
